Navarra is one of the historic regions of Spain, as it was a Reyno (Kingdom) for centuries. The cultural heritage of our city is striking: churches, cathedrals, civil architecture and the imposing city walls that surround the three burgos (neighbourhoods).
The burgos of San Nicolás, San Cernin and La Navarrería each contain interesting examples of religious architecture. It is worth taking the time to discover the church of St. Sernin and that of St. Nicholas, as well as Pamplona Cathedral, which conceals a wonderful Gothic cloister in its interior.
The fiestas of San Fermín – a fiesta of international interest to tourists – are a reflection of how traditions are maintained in our city.
